Exhibition of children´s paintings from Indonesia 1.8. - 31.8.

Exhibition of the most beautiful children´s paintings which were sent to children from Indonesia.

The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles is a group of volunteers including many medical doctors, nurses, teachers, students and other dedicated individuals, who are inspired to be of service to needy and suffering people worldwide.

The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles was founded in 1990 by philosopher, artist and spiritual figure Sri Chinmoy.

There are active branches in more than 40 countries. We responded to requests from Mother Teresa to send humanitarian assistance for poor people in India, from representatives of the UN to help relieve the suffering in Angola and Liberia, from Nelson Mandela and from Archbishop Desmont Tutu to support the poor children in South Africa.

The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles in the Czech Republic

In December 2004 The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles was registered in the Czech Republic as a civic association. In its two-year-existence, the Czech branch took an active part in the relief of catastrophic damage caused by tsunami waves in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and earthquake in Pakistan (in cooperation with organization Hand for Help). It also sent a container of humanitarian supplies to African island Sao Tome&Principe, requested pharmaceuticals and vitamins for the cancer treatment to Azerbaijan, medical aid to Angola and baby food to the South Africa.

The clowns in Sri Lanka

One of the most serious affects of tsunami catastrophe is the bad psychological condition of the children who lost one or both parents. They tend to be despondent and disinterested in the world around them.

At the suggestion of MFJ Foundation, we sent a Czech-Dutch-Serbian team of clowns to Sri Lanka, which organized 19 performances in the course of twelve days for the children in orphanages and provisory camps. The performances took place along the whole affected coast from Colombo to Hambantota.

KIDS TO KIDS

One of the main international projects of the Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles is a Kids to Kids programme. This project connects children from different corners of the globe in spirit of mutual support, friendship and understanding.

Children from different countries express their good will and hope to the children in affected areas by sending them a gift, greetings and their photos. The children, who lost their families or homes due to natural catastrophe or live in desperate conditions due to poverty, can see how many friends in other countries, who loves them, they have. As a response, the recipient children send their thanks and photos back to the giving children, so our children can see whom they helped exactly.

“Drawings of Hope“, Indonesia, Aceh

The Czech branch took part in Kids to Kids program focused on children in the area in Aceh, Indonesia, that was severely affected by tsunami. Children drew colour pictures – Drawings of Love to their little colleagues from Indonesia. About 40 Czech schools took part and collected 1500 drawings with photo and message in Indonesian language.

The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles collected more than 22,000 Drawings of Love throughout the world. On February 15, 2006, the exhibition “Drawings of Hope” was opened in the National Museum in the Indonesian capital Jakarta. In three days the exhibition showed 3,000 drawings of children from 33 countries.

Since then, the drawings have been distributed around Aceh with close cooperation with ADRA organization. Photos and video, showing thousands of Aceh children receiving these beautiful drawings with great joy, were shown at Czech schools who participated in the project.
